Namibia: Works Loses Big in New Changes

THE works ministry is the biggest losers in the changes announced last week when six parastatals were moved to the public enterprises ministry run by Leon Jooste.

According to the plan approved by Cabinet last week, Jooste will be responsible for, among other things, board appointments of key state-owned entities; review their business plans; approve their annual budgets, determine how much boards and management will be paid; direct special investigations when necessary, as well as deal with the restructuring of state entities.
