Gen Yoweri Museveni captured power in January 1986 when I was eleven years and four months old. I will celebrate my 43rd birthday on September 23.
I completed university in 1998 and have worked for 18 years since school and lived a bulk of my life under one democratic leader. At Masaka Secondary School, we were always herded into the town's Liberation Square to provide audience to an inspiring visiting leader. He would fly in a helicopter over our heads to go for a tour in coffee plantations at Kalungu before returning for the afternoon public address.
