Nigeria: One Killed, Four Injured in Tanker Explosion

Benin — One person was yesterday feared dead, while four others sustained injuries, when a tanker laden with fuel exploded at Upper Mission junction on the Benin-Auchi expressway, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.

Daily Trust gathered that the fire was ignited when some residents were scooping fuel after a petrol tanker had skidded off the road while attempting to make U-turn at a junction under construction causing its content to spill. Property worth millions of naira was also destroyed, while seven parked vehicles and shops were burnt.
