Zimbabwe: Chombo Denies Police Brutality Against Journalists, Says No Evidence So Far

HOME AFFAIRS Minister Ignatius Chombo last week shocked journalists when he defended the ill-treatment of reporters on duty by the police, saying his officers were disciplined and were acting above board.

He made the shocking remarks ahead of last Friday's demonstration which saw police firing teargas on opposition leaders and marches in Harare. Chombo was together with Defence Minister Sydney Sekeramayi and Security Minister Kembo Mohadi.
