Business in Parliament yesterday stalled due to the absence of Speaker Rebecca Kadaga and her deputy Jacob Oulanyah. Realising that there was nobody to chair the House, the authorities in the House called off the planned afternoon sitting amid grumbling from some members, wondering what had gone wrong.
Mr Moses Bwalatum, a Parliament staff, would later issue an impromptu statement saying: "Be informed that there will not be plenary sitting today."
