Maputo — Maputo Municipal Council and the National Administration of Conservation Areas (ANAC) hope to conclude the work required to turn the former arsenal in the outlying Maputo neighbourhood of Malhazine into an ecological park by December.
The general director of ANAC, Bartolomeu Soto, announced this on Tuesday, when he signed a memorandum of understanding with the Mayor of Maputo, David Simango. This will be the first conservation area set up inside a city.
