A total of 221.5trn tonnes of coal, metals and other solid minerals from quarrying and other mining activities were mined in Nigeria in the last six years.
A recent statistics released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) on the state disaggregated mining and quarrying data indicated that between 2010 and 2015, about 620.337bn tonnes of coal and 116.254bn tonnes of metal ore were mined respectively.
