Serengeti Boys who were unbeaten before the yesterday, ended their campaign with a 1-0 loss. The Tanzanians are eliminated on away goal decision after ending their posting 3-3 draw with their hosts. The team defeated Congo 3-2 in their first leg match held at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam a fortnight ago.

A report sent to The Daily News by Tanzania Football Association’s Head of Communication, Alfred Lucas said Congo netted their winner in the injury time (92nd minute), the goal that brought deep sorrow to the brave Serengeti Boys players, their coaches and a few officials who accompanied the team.

Still most Tanzanians lauded the team despite the painful loss. Before meeting Congo, Serengeti Boys defeated South Africa’s Amajimbos 3-1 on aggregate.
