Botswana: YDF Beneficial to Youth Businesses

Shoshong — Many youth businesses around the country could not have been as successful as they are had it not been for the Youth Development Fund offered by the government. The same can be said by a welding business under the ownership of one Mr Mohemedi Batshetsang.

A welding business founded and started on minimal equipment in 2006 and being operated from home, Mr Batshetsang said, receiving funding in 2013 to the tune of P94 000 through the Youth Development Fund programme which he used to purchase additional welding material, equipment and sought out a place to operate the business was a watershed moment for his business.
