South Africa: Sahra Sent Packing

The Portfolio Committee on Arts and Culture send back a delegation from the South African Heritage Resources Agency (Sahra) which appeared before the Committee as a result of inadequate information. The agency was briefing the Committee on a forensic report that was instituted into the entity.

"Members highlighted the need to have enough information in order to enable them to have valuable oversight over the institution. Such information includes the Memorandum of Understanding with which the investigation is based - which was not provided to Committee members," said Mr Jabulani Mahlangu, the Acting Chairperson of the Committee.
