Mauritius: Diplomacy - Newly Recruited Second Secretaries Acquainted With Mauritius Foreign Policy

An induction course, aimed at apprising newly recruited Second Secretaries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, of the foreign policy of Mauritius and equipping them with basic diplomatic skills, kicked off this morning at the Lunch Room of the National Assembly in Port Louis.

Organised by the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Trade, under the aegis of the Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Trade, the course also brings together 12 interns recruited under the Service to Mauritius Programme and the Youth Employment Programme. The objectives are to stimulate team-spirit and value-driven leadership; and to expose participants to a range of key issues (climate change, ocean economy, Sustainable Development Goals) as well as sensitive matters that are aligned with national priorities.
