In a renewed drive to attract foreign direct investment and to market the country as an attractive investment destination, the Government of the Republic of Namibia will host 'Invest in Namibia' from 8 to 9 November in the capital, Windhoek.

The International Investment Conference 2016 will take place under the theme "Promoting Investment for Inclusive Growth and Industrialization".

Africa's gem, Namibia, offers a unique set of advantages for the discerning Investor. The country has been described as the continent's most pleasant country with a peaceful and politically stable environment. It also boasts an infrastructure that rivals many developed countries.

The theme "Promoting Investment for Inclusive Growth and Industrialisation" aims to enable investors to talk directly with senior Government officials and business leaders on how to they can benefit from Namibia as a growing trade and logistics hub. The Conference will also profile Namibia's national trade and investment strategies as well as specific business opportunities.

Additionally, the two-day conference highlights include meetings with high-level government officials, briefing and presentations by various government ministries and organisations, one-on-one meetings as per request site visits to Namibian factories and investments projects on display.

The Conference, under the auspices of the Ministry of Industrialization, Trade and SME Development (MITSMED), organized in collaboration with key stakeholders,  aims to present attractive opportunities to local, regional and international investors in targeted sectors that have the potential to contribute towards economic growth and job creation.

The Invest in Namibia International Investment Conference 2016 will showcase a pipeline of targeted investment projects in sectors such as:

  • Housing
  • Agriculture
  • Energy
  • Logistics and Infrastructure
  • Manufacturing and
  • Tourism
