Nigeria: 200 Islamic Clerics Trained On De-Radicalization, Counter-Terrorism

Yola — The Japanese government, through the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has trained 200 clerics on how to change people's perceptions on what Islam really is against the prevailing manifestations of the Boko Haram insurgency.

The Program Officer, Mr. David Omogede, said to ward-off the ideology the Boko-Haram sect had engraved in some people, they had trained 80 clerics in Maiduguri, 60 in Yobe and another 60 in Adamawa state.
