Kampala — The petition in which 50 convicted prisoners, including former prime minister of Tooro Kingdom, Mr John Sanyu Katuramu, are seeking the Supreme Court to review its 2009 order awaits judgement.
In January 2009, the Supreme Court ordered that prisoners whose punishments were already confirmed by Court, their petitions for mercy must be processed and determined within three years from the date of confirmation of the sentence.
