Somalia: Militia Loyal to Jubbaland Leader Harass Kismayo Residents

An armed militia group loyal to the current president of Jubbaland state Ahmed Madobe have been accused of harassing the local residents in Kismayo city. Reliable sources in the city revealed to Radio Shabelle that Madobe's loyalists are targeting vulnerable and minority residents, in revenge for two soldiers' killing.

In what appears to be a coordinated arbitrary arrests are yet ongoing in parts of the coast city which is under the control of Raskamboni militia loyal to Madobe. The abuses against Kismayo inhabitants followed the murder of two Jubbaland soldiers, one of them is said to be a close relative to Ahmed Madobe.
