FINANCE minister Calle Schlettwein last Thursday responded to Namibia's credit rating opinion as issued by Moody's Investors Service on 2 December, admitting that the Namibian economy has never been in such a precarious situation before.
Moody's Investors Service, often referred to as Moody's, revised Namibia's credit risk outlook from stable to negative on that date, while affirming the country's long-term issuer and senior unsecured ratings.
