Zanzibar — Zanzibar Premier League (Unguja Zone) leaders JKU suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Zimamoto at the Amaan Stadium on Monday. Himid Mgeni scored the only goal in the match that kicked off at lunch time to condemn JKU to their first defeat in the league this season. The goal came in the 50th minute.
Despite the defeat, the army side still sit top of the table on 42 points. Following the victory, Zimamoto maintained their grip of the second position in the league standing after reaching 33 points.
