Kenya: Parliament Wants to Restrict Government Borrowing

Parliament wants to restrict government borrowing to an amount that is Sh82 billion less than the National Treasury's proposal in order to deal with corruption and irresponsible spending.

A report by the National Assembly's Budget and Appropriations Committee cites an insatiable desire by the Treasury to borrow without putting in measures to repay or utilise the money properly as the basis for its action.
