Gambia: African Troops Deploy to Gambian Border As Pressure Mounts for President Jammeh to Step Down

African forces are preparing to enter Gambia should President Yahya Jammeh not step down. The move comes after failed efforts by regional powers to persuade the leader to honor the results of a December election.

West African regional forces announced on Wednesday that they were preparing for a possible military deployment to Gambia in the event that Jammeh refused to step down.
