South Africa: GDP to Average 1.3% in 2017, Country Needs to Boost Investment

Cape Town — South Africans can expect growth of 1.3% in 2017, which is expected to improve moderately to over 2% in the medium term, Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan said on Wednesday.

In its 2017 Budget Review, National Treasury forecasts a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth of 1.3% in 2017, 2% in 2018 and 2.2% in 2019.
