Uganda: Kamya Asks for 300 Police Officers to Patrol City

Kampala — The Minister for Kampala Affairs, Ms Beti Olive Kamya, has written to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Gen Kale Kayihura, requesting for 300 police officers to support the existing law enforcement officers in the city.

Defending the request for more deployment in the city in a letter dated February 9, Ms Kamya noted that nearly 70 per cent of the commercial activities take place in Kampala Capital City and the metropolitan area and that such businesses must have guaranteed safety.
