Liberia: GOL Announces Death of Ambassador Carlton A. Karpeh

The Government of Liberia has officially announced with profound regret the death in his 86th year of Ambassador Carlton Alexwyn Karpeh, former Senior Ambassador-at-Large.

The late Karpeh was also former Ambassador to Cameroon and former Minister of Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism.

He was officially retired on December 2, 2010.

This sad event occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday, February 28, at his Duport Road residence in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

Ambassador Karpeh also served the Government of Liberia as Deputy Chief of Protocol to the Organization of African Unity (OAU), now the Africa Union (AU) and Assistant Minister of Information for Public Affairs and Tourism.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
