South Africa: Kimberley - Police Confiscate Illegal Firearm

Police in Kimberley are investigating a case of illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. Police followed up on information regarding the possession of an illegal firearm, over the weekend. The 49-year-old suspect was spotted in Kelvin Street in the Kimberley CBD, where he was stopped and searched by police. Police found a revolver and ammunition in the suspect's possession. He was arrested and detained at Kimberley Police Station. The suspect should be appearing in the Kimberley Magistrates' Court soon. The investigation continues.
