Botswana: FCC Rewards Excellence

Francistown — Standard Charted Bank (SCB) Francistown branch manager, Ms Mpho Mosojane has commended Francistown City Council for rewarding employees for excellence in the workplace.

Giving a key note address at the awards ceremony recently, Ms Mosojane congratulated award winners, saying it was a great moment for them as their efforts were being recognised.

She said it was through hard work, dedication and perseverance that they were receiving their awards, adding that it was not everyone who was being appreciated but those who went an extra mile in performing their duties with a vision, applying their sense of creativity and commitment to serve.

Ms Mosojane further said Botswana was faced with the urgency to deliver improved and effective services to the citizens with limited resources.

She said therefore, they had to adopt innovative approaches and solutions that would reduce spending while prioritising and fast tracking service delivery.

Ms Mosojane encouraged other stakeholders to take advantage of such institutions and encourage their employees to undertake some courses to enhance their skills.

She noted that the awards ceremony were not only for celebrations but a time to showcase and share their experience among their colleagues in the quest for excellence.

Furthermore, she encouraged employees to be willing to learn from those who performed to high standards and even strive to out-compete them as it would increase the productivity in their workplace.

Ms Mosojane encouraged employees who did not win, not to despair as they had the power to rise up and be the strongest version in the workplace.

She further encouraged stakeholders to be inspired by the award winners so they could challenge and reflect on how they could improve service delivery in the workplace

When giving the overview of the awards, FCC town clerk Mr Mopati Seleka said the employees awarded showed that they were driving and achieving the mission and vision of the country, hence impacting the lives of the citizens.

He also implored stakeholders to change the lives of people whilst driving the visions and missions of the country because good delivery services brought positive impact on organisations and citizens.

In her welcome remarks, the mayor of Francistown Ms Sylvia Muzila said it was a healthy thing in a working environment to award employees as it motivated them to do well at work.
