African Development Bank Appoints Roger Adom As Director of Information Technology

The African Development Bank Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Roger Adom to the position of Director of the Information Technology Department, with effect from 16 March 2017.

Roger Adom, a French national, joins the Bank from the Orange Group, in Paris, where he has worked since 2010 as Chief Information officer responsible for Africa, Middle East and Asia, managing an annual budget of 200 million euros and 23 country teams with a total of 1200 employees.

Adom joined the Orange Group in 2003, within the Ivorian subsidiary of the Orange Group, where he rose to the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer in charge of Human Resources, and Information Technology. As Deputy Chief Executive Officer, he succeeded in maintaining Orange Côte d'Ivoire as the leader of telephone services in Côte d'Ivoire. He oversaw the successful digital transformation of the Orange Group subsidiaries in Africa.

While at the Orange Group, Adom is known to have steered numerous programmes and working groups aimed at enhancing customer experience, cost control and operational efficiency. Furthermore, he initiated Mobile Banking for the Orange Group in Africa and the Middle East. He also successfully put in place a strategy aligned on the needs of the trade and pooled the information system of more than 23 countries.

Adom holds an undergraduate diploma in Mathematics and Physics from the University of Nantes in France, a postgraduate degree from the "Centrale Nantes", a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) and a Postgraduate Business Management Certificate (certificat d'aptitude en administration des entreprises - CAAE) from the Paris Business School (l'Institut d'Administration des Entreprises - IAE), in France.

Speaking on Adom's appointment, the President of the African Development Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, said, "Mr. Adom is an experienced, passionate and dynamic information systems manager who has accumulated considerable practical experience in the sector. He brings along very sound know-how in the management of information systems. As we implement our new business delivery model, I count on Roger to drive a digital system transformation to serve the Bank everywhere, for a Bank on the move".
