Nigeria: Defection - Sheriff's PDP Faction to Sue Rep Pwajok

Jos — The factional leadership of the PDP in Plateau State yesterday vowed to seek legal action against Rep Edward Pwajok, the member representing Jos South/ Jos East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, who defected to the APC on Wednesday.

A statement issued by the Gyang Bandung Pam led faction of the party, which is loyal to the Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff's faction of the PDP, noted that the strategic location of Pwajok's constituency in the scheme of things made it necessary for them to challenge his defection in court.

The statement, which was signed by the factional Publicity Secretary, Emmanuel Macham, said the State Executive Committee (SEC) and the State Working Committee (SWC) had met with the state legal adviser and lawyers of the party, and concluded all necessary arrangement to challenge Pwajok's action in court.

Pwajok, whose letter of defection was read on the floor of the House, on Wednesday, had taken to the social media to justify his defection to the APC, saying his former party had reduced to factions.
