Nigeria: Bwari Council Embarks On 1.3km Township Road Rehabilitation

Chairman of Bwari Area Council in the FCT, Musa Dikko, has announced the rehabilitation of a 1.3km dual carriage township roads to ease traffic congestion.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the rehabilitation would cut through the Central Market to FGGC Bwari, from the council secretariat to JAMB quarters and from T- junction to Sabon Gari community.

"Despite the meagre resources that we have, we want to maintain the road. Everyone knows that the FCT Administration is bent on fixing this road, but it is just a matter of time.

"So, what we are trying to do now is to put it relatively in a condition that we can use for now, before the FCTA can fix it.

"It is a dual carriageway so people should be patient with us, but we are committed to doing it in a way that they will not regret," he said.

Dikko said that the rehabilitation would make the road more accessible and increase business opportunities within the areas.
