South Africa: Act Against Abuse Campaign

press release

As part of ongoing endeavors to create awareness and educate communities on the prevalence of crimes perpetrated against women and the scourge of ritual murders in the province, the Provincial Corporate Communication and Liaison approached and reached an agreement with the SABC radio combo comprising Thobela FM, Phalaphala FM and Munghana-lonene FM for the provision of a slot to enable us reach out to our intended target. Subsequent to this initiative, Lieutenant Colonel Moatshe Ngoepe had a two hour live interview with the Sabc Thobela FM from their Polokwane Studios on Monday 22 May 2017. The program dealt with missing persons, kidnapping of girls and the effect of social media on the current crisis.

The program took the format of a panel discussion, comprising representatives from the South African Gender Commission, parents, boys, girls and the student's representative from the University of Limpopo as well as religious groups.
