Niger: More Than 40 Migrants 'Die of Thirst' in Niger

Babies and women were among the 44 migrants found dead after their vehicle broke down in the desert of northern Niger while on the way to Libya, local officials said on Thursday.

Six survivors walked to a remote village where they said those they were travelling with, mostly from Ghana and Nigeria died of thirst, according to Lawal Taher, the department head for the Red Cross in the Bilma region.
