Vodacom Tanzania's recent IPO is one of the biggest in Tanzania. Let's take a look at the top 10 IPO's that have ever happened before Vodacom's in the Dar es salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) between 2000 and 2016.

Below are the top 10 IPO's by subscription value;

10. TANZANIA CIGARRETTE COMPANY (TCC)

Largest tobacco processing and manufacturing company.

Listed in the DSE in 2000

IPO Price: Sh410 per Share.

Peak price: 18,250 (Sh) per share

9. TANZANIA BREWERIES LIMITED

Engaged in the production, distribution and sale of malt beer, non-alcoholic malt beverages and alcoholic fruit beverages.

Listed at DSE in 2013

IPO price Sh2,900 per share

Peak price: Sh18,445 per share

8. TANGA CEMENT PLC

Producer and supplier of cement used in construction and making of concrete products.

Listed in the stock market in 2002

IPO Price: Sh300 per share.

Peak price: Sh6,180 per share

7. MWALIMU COMMERCIAL BANK

Banking Services in Tanzania.

Listed in DSE in 2015.

IPO Price: Sh500 per share.

Peak price: Sh665 per share

6. SWISSPORT TANZANIA PLC

Provides airport ground and cargo handling services primarily in Tanzania.

The company launched its first IPO in 2003.

Share Price at IPO: Sh225

Peak price: Sh7,000 per share

5. THE DAR ES SALAAM STOCK EXCHANGE (DSE)

A financial market where buyers and sellers of financial instruments meet.

Avail long term and affordable capital to companies from investors with investment motives.

DSE launched their first IPO in 2016

IPO price: Sh500 per share.

Peak price: Sh 1,770 per share

4. CRDB Bank PLC

The leading banking institution in Tanzania in terms of assets, loans and advances and customer deposits.

CRDB was listed on the stock exchange market in 2009.

IPO Price: Sh150 per share.

Peak price: Sh516.7 per share

3. TANZANIA PORTLAND CEMENT COMPANY LIMITED

Largest cement producing company in Tanzania. TPCC manufactures and sells cement.

Listed at DSE in 2006

IPO Price: Sh435 per share

Peak price: Sh4,500

2. NATIONAL MICROFINANCE BANK PLC

Largest commercial bank in Tanzania, providing banking services to individuals, small to medium sized corporate clients and large businesses.

Listed at DSE in 2008

IPO Price: Sh600 per share.

1. EAST AFRICAN BREWERIES LIMITED

Listed at DSE in 2005

IPO price Sh700 per share
