Liberia: House Summons Energy Sector

Authorities of Liberia's energy sector have been summoned by the House of Representatives to provide reasons for negotiating another management services agreement for the Liberia Electricity Corporation or LEC, when investigation is yet to be concluded into alleged inconsistencies that marred the previous management contract.

"While these sailent points have been placed on the fore burner for which this body has sanctioned a probe, it is disheartening to note that the Board of Directors of LEC and the Ministry of Lands, Mines and Energy are determined to tie this nation into yet another management agreement to manage the LEC", Rep. Saah Joesph claims.
