South Africa: Suspect Arrested for Possession of AK47 Rifle

Today, 14 June 2017, at approximately 04:00, an Ethekwini Inner West and Outer West Cluster Intelligence driven operation, together with members of the SAPS and Durban Metro, apprehended a 37-year-old suspect, who was found in possession of an AK47 rifle. The planned operation apprehended the suspect at St Wendelins, in the Mariannhill area, after a reliable source informed the SAPS that the suspect was in possession of illegal firearms. The suspect could possibly be linked to business robberies within the Ethekwini area. The suspect was arrested and charged for being in possession of a firearm. The suspect will appear in Court in due time.
