Nigeria: Four Killed in Ogun Auto Crash

Four passengers were on Sunday killed in a fatal auto crash along Ijebu-Ode/Benin Expressway, while others sustained various injuries.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enlightenment Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the incident, said the crash involved a loaded truck with registration number JJJ 50 XQ and a Toyota Sienna with registration number LND 708 AH

He said the accident was caused by reckless driving‎, adding that the commercial vehicle left Lagos towards Anambra when the driver rammed into the truck.

Mr. Akinbiyi said the commercial bus driver lost control‎ as a result of heavy downpour, coupled with reckless driving, resulting in the death of the four occupants.

He said the remains of the dead were deposited at the morgue of the State Hospital, Ijebu-Ode, while the injured were receiving medical attention.
