Cameroon: North West - Garrison, Legion Commanders Take Command

Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defense, in charge of the Gendarmerie, Jean Baptiste Bokam prescribes proximity security for the protection of the people and property.

A new chapter is expected to reign in the North West Region with newly appointed senior military commanders commissioned and charged to chart the way forward. The Secretary of State at the Ministry of Defense in charge of the National Gendarmerie, Jean Baptiste Bokam instructed the Commanders to rise to expectations, apply proximity security and ensure harmony amongst defense forces in the face of security threats staring the nation in the face. Secretary of State, Jean Baptiste Bokam saluted the merit and competence of the Commander of the 22nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Agha Robinson Ndong and urged him to keep soldiers alert and fit for operations. The new Gendarmerie Legion commander, 54 year old Colonel Nkoa Mala Valere was challenged to tackle criminality and road safety issues with tact and required seriousness. Meanwhile, the retained Regional head of Division for Ex-service men and war victims, Lieutenant Colonel Alingwa was told to inspire hope in the corps and mobilise Ex-service men and war victims for nation building.
