Nigeria: Governor Bello and KSU ASUU

Bello, who made the proclamation in Lokoja after a decision he said was reached by the State Executive Council, also said it was sequel to the union's failure to call off its seven months old strike action. This was in spite of the claim by the state government that it had met 90 percent of the union's demands. Accordingly, Governor Bello directed all academic staff of the institution to immediately resume normal academic activities or deem themselves to have resigned from the employment of the state government and the university. He said "lecturers have been paid up to date and there was no justification for them to continue with their industrial action."
