Cameroon: Render Investment Profitable

opinion

Full activity is expected to now rumble off at the ultra-modern Deep Seaport in Kribi, Ocean Division of the South Region, following the signing yesterday July 25, 2017 of a contract between government and a consortium for the management of the port's container terminal. Yesterday's ceremony was long awaited, given that the port has been technically fit for use since 2015 and needed such a move to conveniently receive and despatch vessels.

The move may be qualified by analysts as belated judging from the time the infrastructure, constructed with a loan, has been left idle. Better late than never, some would say! The bottom line is that stakeholders absolutely need to wake up and federate their efforts to render the huge investment profitable. Now that those charged with managing the port's terminals have received the administrative blessings, all actors shouldn't waste time anymore in swinging into full action to fetch returns commensurate to the volume of investment.
