Nigeria: Nis - No National ID Registration, No Int'l Passport From 2018

Abuja — The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) Tuesday in Abuja said beginning from January 2018, any citizen who does not possess National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) number can no longer obtain or renew international passport.

Making this disclosure yesterday after a meeting with the Information Communication Technology (ICT) Department of the Presidential Villa, NIS Comptroller General, Mohammed Babandede, said the nation had been confronted with the challenge of data harmonisation.
