Nigeria: Police Not Limited to Boundary in Crime Fighting - IGP

Awka — The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has said that the police have no defined jurisdiction in crime fighting.

He said the officers can encroach into other states or areas to carryout their duties.

Idris stated this yesterday in Onitsha, Anambra State, during the presentation of six Mitsubishi brand patrol vehicles to the Nigeria Police and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Anambra and Delta States by the management of Interfact Beverages Ltd, Onitsha.

Represented by the Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Garba Umar, Idris commended the company for their good gesture, adding that the five vehicles would help in facilitating their work.

Earlier, the Director Legal and Corporate Affairs (West Africa), Otumba Michael Daramola, said the donation was part of the companys' contribution to maintain security in Anambra and Delta states.
