Nairobi — The family, friends and colleagues of murdered Independent Electoral and Boundaries ICT Manager Chris Msando are demanding justice during his requiem mass.

All the family members who spoke at the mass which was held at the Consolata shrine Westlands on Thursday said Msando's death was as a result of his job at the Electoral Commission.

"We as family strongly believe that Chris was killed because of his job... .if it was not so my brother would still be with me," said Msando's elder sister.

Msando's widow Eva Buyu who with deep sorrow eulogized the late as a man who cherished, loved and meant a lot to his young family said the gap he left will never be filled.

Buyu also called for justice demanding to know who brutally murdered her late husband and why.

"My children ask me why. I don't know what to answer but I tell you Kenyans it's not going to be in vain vengeance is for the lord let justice be our shield and defender," she said.

The mass was attended by top IEBC officials including Chairman Wafula Chebukati, CEO Ezra Chiloba among others who eulogised Msando as a dedicated man who played a key role in preparing last week's elections

"The question still lingers on who brutally murdered Chris Msando and why did he have to face such a cruel death and such a senseless death we pray that police investigations conclude soon and we get a closure to this event," Chebukati said.

The Kisumu Governor-elect Anyang Nyong'o also attended the emotional memorial service where he described Msando as a leader who was intelligent and dedicated to deliver credible elections in the just concluded exercise.

Nyong'o expressed his concern that Kenyans lose their lives every election period.

"We will all rise together and let justice be our shield and defender believing that not the cruel hand death shall determine our political destiny but the loving hand of God as revealed to us in the new testament," said Nyong'o.
