South Africa: IFP Calls for a Thorough Forensic Investigation Into Umlalazi Municipality Bankruptcy

The Inkatha Freedom Party calls for a thorough forensic investigation into management of municipal funds after reports that the uMlalazi Municipality is bankrupt.

"This investigation must be conducted because we have learnt that this municipality is so bankrupt that now its employees are panicking after they learnt that the municipal coffers are now empty and it is not clear how their salaries will be paid. It must be investigated how municipal funds were depleted and by who. The Chief Financial Officer and the Municipal Manager must answer and be held accountable for this mess.
