Liberia: Candidate Promises to Redeem District in Cape Mount

Grand Cape Mount County District #2 representative candidate Verney A. Pusah says the change long awaited by the district has arrived, assuring his people that he has come to redeem the district.

Mr. Pusah, a candidate on ticket of opposition Coalition for Liberia's Progress (CLP) says the district has suffered for so long in the hands of the evil one and remained silent at the Legislature.

"We can tell you today, that the turnout of the people is a clear manifestation that indeed they want a positive change, and that change is Verney A. Pusah," he said Saturday, 16 September at the official launch of his campaign and endorsement ceremony at the Momo Tarweh Sports Stadium in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County.

Candidate Pusah vowed to put back the district on par with others, vowing an inclusive representation to the people of that district. He claims that he will always go back to the people when elected their representative when there is a bill to be passed.

The formal student leader of the Cape Mount Student Union of the University of Liberia boasted that he is a son of the soil with a humble history in Cape Mount, and one that is free of corruption.

He claims that he is not seeking the representative job because he wants to buy cars build houses, alleging to already have them in abundance. He claims that he has felt the pains of the inhabitants of the district, thus prompting him to contest the October representative election. When elected representative of District #2, Mr. Pusah says he will constitute a district tutorial institute to contribute to the academic work of students that will be preparing for WAEC as a way of helping to stop mass failure.

Mr. Pusah is contesting against 12 candidates including the incumbent Rep. Mambu M. Sonii, who is seeking re-election.
