Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire — The Vice-President for Agriculture, Human and Social Development, of the African Development Bank (AfDB) cordially invites you to the launching of the Africa Water Facility (AWF) Long Term Strategy (2017-2025) on Friday 13 October 2017, from 09h00 to 13h00 at the Golf Hotel, Abidjan.

The African Water Facility (AWF) was established in 2004 with the objective to assist African countries to address the increasing investment need for the development and management of water resources in Africa, towards meeting the goals and targets of the Africa Water Vision (AWV). It has recently revised its Strategy to re-focus its intervention taking into account the Sustainable Development Goals and other current developments.

To this end, AWF strategy will continue to support preparation of investment ready projects, deploying small catalytic investments and increasing investment opportunities in the sector.

Particular emphasis is placed on the involvement of the private sector in the financing of water and sanitation investments. All these will contribute to the mobilization of necessary finances for the implementation of the Bank's High 5s.

You are cordially invited to participate in this event to have better understanding of the unique but important role that AWF will play over the next ten years.
