South Africa: MTN Bright and Early to Address Iphone 8 Demand

Johannesburg — MTN will on Friday open its flagship outlets earlier to cope with demand for the new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus in South Africa. "We will be opening our flagship stores in each province at 7am tomorrow morning to offer our customers the convenience and excitement of securing the iPhone 8 as soon as it hits the shelves," Jacqui O'Sullivan, Executive for Corporate Affairs: MTN SA, said on Thursday. The main launch activation will be at Morningside in Gauteng. MTN customers can also secure this sought-after device on the new MTN Made for Me postpaid plans. O'Sullivan said MTN's substantial investments in improving network quality and coverage, coupled with a renewed focus on overhauling customer experience, would ensure customers reap the benefits of using the cutting-edge devices. "Smart devices such as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus need to be complemented by quality networks that provide faster download speeds, clear voice quality and an expansive LTE (Long Term Evolution) coverage. Our network has the resilience and capacity to fully support the very best use of devices such as the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus." Announced in September, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus feature a new glass and aluminium design in three finishes - space grey, silver and a new gold. Other key features include Retina HD displays and an A11 Bionic chip designed for the ultimate augmented experience. The iPhone 8 Plus features dual 12-megapixel cameras.
