South Africa: Suspect Arrested for House Robbery

Potchefstroom: A quick response and the police's determination to discourage crime by providing responsive policing led to apprehension of a suspect within three hours of the commission of the crime.

The suspects' apprehension emanated from an incident in which they accosted a 20-year-old man who was sleeping in his house in the early hours of Friday, 20 October 2017, at Tshing location, Ventersdorp. According to information received, the suspects broke the door and entered the house. They (suspects) allegedly threatened the man with a knife and strangled him. The suspects then took the victim's personal belongings including a cellular phone, all to the estimated value of R1 300.00.
