Liberia: Robert Mensah Says Goodbye to Liscr After Winning Double Titles

The 20-year old, who joined LISCR from Wassaman United of Ghana, had a difficult start during last season's campaign after twice sustaining injuries. His return from injury was a boost to the team after he scored two goals to help them reach the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, before scoring the crucial winning goal in the semi-finals against FC Fassell. LISCR later won the FA Cup on August 13 after a thrilling 3-0 win against ELWA United.

The Ghanaian striker sustained his first injury during his debut against Keitrace FC that kept him out of the team for the first half of the season. Following his recovery, he was later knocked out with another injury after he broke his right hand that kept him out for two months.

During his stay at the club, Mensah scored 3 goals from 15 appearances in all competitions and recorded two major titles to his career.

"It wasn't an easy task for me during the season, but I am grateful to God for winning two league titles during my first season; and I hope for the best next season," Mensah told Ducor Sports after the climax of the season.

LISCR have meanwhile thanked the striker for his contribution to their double title triumph and wished him all the best in his career. "He'll be remembered for scoring the winning goal in LISCR's 2-1 victory over FC Fassell in the second leg of the FA Cup semifinals," a statement said.
