Nigeria: Dutch Law Firm Seeks Criminal Case Against Shell Over Malabu Oil Deal

A Dutch law firm has asked the public prosecutor in the Netherlands to file a case against Royal Dutch Shell, its CEO and former executives of over what it described as criminal actions relating to acquisition of Oil Prospecting Lease (OPL) 245 from Malabu Oil and Gas Limited by the oil giant.

The 2011 oilfield acquisition by Shell and Agip has been a subject of litigation in Nigeria and other countries.
