The Federal Government has received the final draft document of the proposed National Transport Policy (NTP).

The inter-ministerial committee for the finalization of the NTP submitted the report to the Minister of Transportation, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for onward delivery to the Federal Executive Council for approval.

The minister had on October 19, 2017 inaugurated a 19-man committee to finalise the review of the National Transport Policy draft for the country's transportation sector.

Mr. Amaechi at a brief ceremony in Abuja, Tuesday, said the NTP for Nigeria must be defined by new technologies in transport business, adding that the country cannot afford not to incorporate technology into its transport infrastructure going forward.

The minister also promised to review the draft documents with the minister of state, Aviation, Sen. Hadi Sirika after which, the document would be sent to FEC for approval.
