South Africa: 301 Suspects Arrested in North West During Operation

In an ongoing effort to bring down the levels of serious offences, including crimes against women and children, a provincial suspect raiding operation conducted between Thursday, 07 and Friday, 08 December 2017 resulted in the arrest of 301 suspects.

The suspects were nabbed for various offences and they include 140 for Assault with intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and assault common. The other arrests include 15 for rape, 14 for malicious damage to property, 26 for burglary residential, 12 for contravention of protection order, 21 for theft, 14 for common robbery and three for theft of motor. Out of 301 arrests, 70 were for crimes that were committed against women and children such as rape, Assault with intent to do Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and assault common as well as contravention of protection order.
