Abuja — President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday said that the member states of the Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, were compelled to force former President of Gambia, Yahya Jammeh out of office after losing re-election because of the eminent political crisis his action was going to cause the country.
President Buhari who expressed disappointment that the ECOWAS leaders had to use strong-arm tactics to get Jammeh out said the action was for political stability in Gambia.
