Gaborone — Food manufacturer and distributor, Bokomo Botswana last week received the International Standard Organisation ISO 9001:2015 certificate from Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBS).
The BOBS certificate is an accolade that recognises excelling management systems.
The certificate also gauges a wide range of issues such as customer satisfaction and service delivery through effective management systems and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
Bokomo Botswana manufactures edibles such as white star maize meal, Bokomo special maize meal, samp and maize rice to name a few.
Bokomo also produces pure sugar brands of refined brown and white sugar and distributes an array of other foods nationwide.
Speaking at the certificate handover ceremony in Gaborone on March 2, Bokomo Botswana CEO, Mr Werner De Beer stated that "Bokomo continuously strives for excellence in all it does. It is therefore a proud achievement to be certified compliant with international standards of quality."
Mr De Beer also commended team Bokomo for their diligent efforts in producing products of the highest quality.
When handing out the certificate, BOBS managing director, Ms Masego Marobela said Bokomo Botswana has continued to imprint confidence on its customers, and that it has proved to be dedicated as well as committed to continuously providing products and services that are of added value thereby satisfying all its stakeholders.
"The Bokomo Botswana recommendation for certification transition was considered and approved on the 16th February 2018 by the BOBS' certification approvals committee. It is commendable for Bokomo Botswana to have completed the transition process way before the cut-off date," Ms Marobela stated.
She also said that Bokomo Botswana, as a company producing, handling and distributing consumable goods with complex processes, such as the milling and packaging of wheat and maize products, the packaging and repackaging of refined sugar and the distribution of all these goods and other agency goods, was compelled to win the confidence of its customers.
Ms Marobela also urged all stakeholders to commend Bokomo Botswana for the commitment demonstrated through the establishment, implementation and maintenance of the quality management systems requirements standard.
